SenSpa - Award Winning Project in Historic Presidio Complex / by Leah Anderson

Located in a one-story rehabilitated structure, the utilitarian wood frame building was originally built in 1919 as a medical supply warehouse within the historic Letterman Hospital complex. Its unglamorous exterior belies its Asian-inspired interior whose layout respects the structure’s integrity. SenSpa garnered the prestigious 2006 California Preservation Foundation award for its sustainable design and has been published in several noteworthy wellness publications.
